5.8/10

We stayed at the hotel with high hopes given the beautiful external appearance, but unfortunately, our experience was marred by several disappointing aspects. The rooms felt outdated and lacked attention to cleanliness, which was especially concerning given the price we paid. Although the service had its moments, the overall atmosphere left much to be desired. Dining options were unremarkable and did not meet expectations for a hotel of this nature. Unfortunately, we won't be returning.

Rooms
5.0
The room we initially checked into was unfortunately quite dirty, with mouldy tiles and dust everywhere. While we moved to a slightly better room, it still felt uninviting with cheap furnishings, and the overall lack of cleanliness was hard to overlook.
Service
5.0
The staff was polite when they were around, but there was a general sense of unengagement among them. I expected more warmth and attentiveness during our stay.
Location
7.0
The hotel's location is quite nice, providing lovely views of the sea and gardens, but the steep walk to the harbour can be challenging, especially if you're not able-bodied.
Dining
5.0
Dining in the Brasserie was a letdown; the quality was average at best, with poorly executed dishes that didn't match the hotel's appearance or pricing.
Facilities
6.0
Facilities seemed adequate but didn't impress; the overall environment feels neglected, and more investment in renovations and service quality is needed.

6.8/10

I had a mixed experience at the hotel. The beautiful views and well-maintained gardens were definitely highlights that added to my enjoyment. However, the room I stayed in was quite outdated and uncomfortable, which took away from the overall experience. Additionally, while the staff was friendly in some instances, my interactions weren't consistently positive, especially when it came to service during dining.

Rooms
5.0
The room I stayed in was quite tired and needed some updating, with a creaky bed and chipped bath that weren't inviting.
Service
5.0
While some staff members were pleasant, I did encounter moments where the service felt unhelpful, especially when asking for assistance with lighting in my room.
Location
9.0
The hotel's location provided easy access to the coastal path and stunning views of St Ives, which made exploring the area quite enjoyable.
Dining
6.0
The dining was decent, but I found some of the options a bit lackluster and repetitive, especially during breakfast.
Facilities
7.0
The outdoor and indoor pools are a nice touch, providing a relaxing option no matter the weather, but the overall state of the amenities could use improvement.

6.4/10

My stay at Tregenna Castle was pleasant, featuring beautiful gardens and stunning views over St Ives. However, the hotel felt like it was missing a touch of polish, particularly in the service and decor. While the room we had was comfortable, it could definitely use a refresh. Overall, it's a decent place for a getaway, but I think it has the potential to offer more.

Rooms
6.0
The room was sizeable and offered a lovely view of St Ives, but the decor felt somewhat dated and could benefit from a refresh.
Service
6.0
Service was hit or miss; some staff were welcoming and attentive, while others seemed disinterested, which was disappointing.
Location
8.0
The location is great, with only a short 10-minute walk to the center of St Ives, although it's quite hilly, which might be challenging for some.
Dining
6.0
Breakfast was plentiful but quite ordinary; it did the job, though a little more variety would have been nice.
Facilities
6.0
The hotel offers nice amenities like gardens and pools, which enhance the overall experience, yet the maintenance of certain areas needs attention.

6.4/10

My stay at Tregenna Castle left me feeling quite mixed. While the breathtaking views and beautiful gardens were the highlights, the room was disappointing in terms of comfort and amenities. The service was friendly, but not always timely, and the dining options lacked variety. I appreciated the location's proximity to St Ives, but overall, I expected more from a hotel of this caliber.

Rooms
5.0
The room was large but in dire need of updating, with uncomfortable furniture and a lack of basic amenities.
Service
6.0
The service was friendly, but at times it felt rushed and not very attentive to our needs.
Location
8.0
The location is convenient, just a short walk from the shops and beaches of St Ives.
Dining
6.0
Dining options could be improved, as the buffet style felt more suited for a budget hotel rather than a premium experience.
Facilities
7.0
Facilities like the pools were nice, but the golf course didn't meet my expectations.

I had a lovely two-night stay at the hotel with some beautiful views and a generally pleasant atmosphere. The rooms were spacious and clean, though we encountered a few minor inconveniences with cold temperatures and the price of drinks was on the high side. The dining options for breakfast were great, and I appreciated the attention from the staff, but my spa experience didn't quite match my expectations.

Rooms
8.0
The room was lovely and spacious, though it was a bit cold during the day.
Service
9.0
The staff were attentive and polite, always ready to help.
Location
9.0
The hotel is about a 10-minute walk through scenic grounds to the town, making it a great location for exploring.
Dining
8.0
Breakfast was fantastic, with a great selection, though it would have been nice to have more freshly cooked options.
Facilities
6.0
While the spa facilities were decent, improvement could be made by adding loungers by the pool area.
